The problem is I can't find the Android SDK on my machine! I assume it's there because otherwise the program wouldn't compile and run through Android Studio? Perhaps that's a bad assumption? I'm new to Macs (I'm used to Windows) so I don't know the best way to search for the Android SDK. Make sure the Android SDK platform-tools/ directory is included in your PATH environment variable, then execute: All I want to do now is be able to build the app and install it on device from the command line as opposed to Android Studio. But for anyone who encounters this, this seems like a decent short-term workaround.I have installed Android Studio on my MacBook Air (OS Version 10.11 El Capitan) and have successfully written a small "hello, world" app and installed on device (Nexus 7) and ran on AVD. This is far from ideal as the installed AS should just work out-of-box. Since sdk is already available, I can successfully configure the stable AS. Then, installed the stable version Arctic Fox 2020.3.1. So I first successfully installed Chipmunk Canary, which will download the Android sdk to /Library. Update : The issue with stable version and Bumblebee Beta seems to be that Android sdk is not downloaded, so Android/sdk directory is never created in Users//Library folder. It would be ideal for stable version to work however, so not completely resolved. Update : Bumblebee Beta gives same issue. I have wasted hours and can't seem to understand why this is just not working out of box. Go to the Applications folder and remove Android Studio into the Trash. In Android Studio Setup Wizard, I am getting an error. Steps to manually uninstall Android Studio from Mac: Quit Android Studio. Follow these steps to install Android Studio on macOS: Download the Android Studio DMG for Mac. I am trying to setup Android Studio stable version (2020.3.1 Arctic Fox) - "Mac with Apple chip".
